St. Louis Trivia Night & Auction
A Big Yee-Haw! For OHF!
The OHF St. Louis Trivia Night, "From Denim to Diamonds" held on March 12, 2010 was a huge success! With 360 participants, who dressed the part in their cowboy hats and diamonds galore! A night of fun, and entertainment provided by our last minute stand in MC, and great friend, Father Ed Stanger (as TV Celeb Tim Ezell got called out on assignment at the last minute), was awesome! Along with a challenging, brain teasing, trivia game, a great time was had by all. The extreme generosity of the St. Louis Community and beyond…made this fundraiser a success and raised over $25,000 for the OHF!
From the elaborate decorations made by the Trivia Committee of little Baby Blue Jeans adorned with diamonds, to the cropping skills of Kathy Berra and Geri Lux's Cowboy Boots and Hats, and the "Glitter Queen" Kim Boehm, to the exquisite cuisine provided and prepared by Tom Russo of Russo's Gourmet Catering, and Frank Bertarelli, of Bertarelli Cutlery, the palate was fulfilled with all the fixing's!! Including, Trail mix, Homemade Tortilla's and Salsa, Pasta Salad, Coleslaw, Jalapeño Cornbread Muffins, BBQ pulled pork from Kuna Meats and Pappy's Sweet Baby Jane BBQ Sauce. The menu was finished off with Eckert Apple Orchard's Homemade Apple Pie!! Served by our fabulous youth volunteers! (We couldn't do it without you and your generous spirits!) The beverage and spirits donors, Chris Boeglin, Mike Wilhelm, and Puddin' Shot maker, Chris Koch kept the thirst quenched! The Big Screen TV Raffle (From Murray Baker at AUTCO) brought in lots of money well! And of course, the wonderful venue provided by Orlando Garden's Banquet Center, for this "Final Showdown" was nothing short of Spectacular for The OHF!! The audio and visual formatting provided by Rick Proctor and John Sikorski was an Academy Award winning presentation! As Tim, Lisa & Natalie (PHI patient) Berra, graciously, thanked the attendee's for their ongoing support of OHF for the past 16 years, and the true dedication of their committee members who never cease to amaze them! The true Love and Support for OHF and the Berra family was immense.
In addition, the donations to the Auction were spectacular! Including sporting memorabilia (Albert Pujols autographed print (donated by Mike Walsh), 2005 Master's Pin Flag-signed by Jack Nicklaus & Tiger Woods (donated by Jim Sonefeld of Hootie & The Blowfish), a Stan Musial & John F. Kennedy Autographed Photo from 1962), to Cardinal Baseball Game Packages valued at $1000 (donated by Rob & Kathy Berra), to custom crafted unique woodwork (donated by Pat Wright). The auction was filled with an abundance of one-of-a-kind items, adding to the success of the evening! The many contributions made by our OHF family of items and monetary donations from across the country (PH patients, families and doctors who support our cause) made the night truly special. Together, EVERYONE made a difference! And brought us one step closer to our life's mission: Finding a cure for the disease of Primary Hyperoxaluria.
To Our St. Louis OHF Family, and all who made this event a success, we humbly thank you ALL! For being a part of this event for the past 16 years, and sending this Trivia Night out in style! For being a part of OHF! A Big "Yee-Haw" Fills Our Hearts!
