Take the Challenge Jordan McGill Basketball TournamentPlaying Basketball to find a cure for Hyperoxaluria In Oklahoma City, on the weekend of March 25th, the McGill family hosted their first basketball tournament in memory of their son Jordan. This was the third year of fundraising for the McGill family and friends. They chose to host a basketball tournament instead of a golf tournament so that their son Logan and his friends would be able to actively participate. "Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many", Matthew 20:28. The gym was filled with cheering and excitement as 29 teams competed for 1st place. The teams ranged from 3rd to 9th grade, playing their hearts out. Volunteers poured in to help with concession, game clocks and gate entry, not to mention the clean up at the end of the night. Billy and Shawn McGill said "we were truly blessed by this". It would not have been possible without the kind heart of Craig Abraham, who was the driving force behind this event. A special thank you goes out to him for everything he did in helping them raise over $7000 this year. Their family and friends were committed to this cause and were honored to help the McGill family give back. They would like to thank the OHF for continuing the ongoing efforts to spread awareness and fund research to find a cure. |
